The Dragon Lady

I have to admit I have not read any of Milton Caniff's work in it's entirety. Just bits and pieces that show up in various magazines. But that doesn't mean I'm not familiar with the some of the characters. Today's post is The Dragon Lady from Terry and the Pirates. Now I am no Caniff and I won't even try to imitate his wonderful line work, so this is my take on the character. I tried for seductive, aloof, graceful and powerful. Hopefully this comes through. Thanks to Jeff for this commission. Jeff commissioned two pieces so I will have another to share.

This is great! The face, and especially the eyes, remind me of the art style from way back when, so you caught the time period of the character.

I like you signature logo motif!

Royce, Craig, thanks!

Hey Brian, Catwoman is done, Harley will be done in the morning. :) I'm a stinker! How was your B-Day?

Thanks Gary. And you deserve the credit for the various ways I have been signing my name. :)

I actually did take a picture of it with my iPhone, but it was too dark and looked really lousy so I opted not so show it. Glad you B-Day was a good one!
