Last thing for the night, I have a opening in my schedule right now that will probably last a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in getting a painted commission, send me an email of what you have in mind.

Phantom Lady - commission process final
I had planned to show the process of painting this and spreading it over two days, but once I got started I didn't want to stop. When the muse arrives, don't kick her out. The color was done with Golden Fluid Acrylics. I have been experimenting on several boards trying to find "the one". The board I liked the best was Crescent Hot Press Watercolor board. The inks look good on it and I love the way the paints lay on this board. There is a satiny look to it. Phantom Lady's cape and the bad guys suit are good examples of that smooth, satin look. This was a really fun piece to do and to share. Thanks again to Kevin for the commission and for allowing me to share it here as it progressed. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Great job! It turned out gorgeous!
Lud
Thanks Lud!
Gene,
Exceptional piece! I really like how the shading/dark spots came out inside the truck, it looks convincingly real! These paints and the board combination are a match made in heaven!
Gary
Thanks Gary!
Yummy!
Hey Gene,
I think you may be a Battlestar Galactica fan given your past artistic endeavors. Remember that the season premier is tonight at 10:00, so you may want to post early on Friday and then enjoy the show!
Gary
She ( the painting ) really turned out great Gene! Kevin is a lucky guy indeed!!
Thanks Patman!
Hey Gary, thanks for the reminder. I still have to watch Smallville from last night featuring the Legion of Super-Heroes!
Hey Royce, thanks!
Gonna pop some corn and watch smallville in a little while myself!! The Legion!! YES!!
Fantastic job...very nice!
Gene,
You mentioned convention prints in a separate post.
Any chance that the Phantom Lady piece would be offered as a convention print, or because it is a commission, you prefer not to do that. What is your policy regarding this?
Gary
Thanks Brian!
Gary - I use any and all art I create for prints if I think there is an interest. Whether it was a commission or not. Sometimes a commission is to adult or specialized that I don't use it. But if I think it has a general appeal, I use it. Bottom line is the physical art is what is purchased when you commission a piece, not the rights. That is why I have a copyright on the artwork. That said, Phantom Lady will be a print in Pittsburgh. :)
