Socialite and Super-hero - Sue Dibny and her Elongated Man

Sue and Ralph Dibny (Elongated Man) © DC Comics

I started this piece two years ago. And the last time I worked on it was two years ago, yesterday. This is vintage on vintage. It was a piece I always wanted to finish but had a hard time visualizing the final image. I'm glad I waited until I was ready.

Below is the same image minus the textured effect. Just for comparison.

Legion of Super-Heroes Cadets

Last week I found I had some free time and put out a call for anyone who wanted a commission to email me. Mike jumped on this quickly with a request for some Legion Cadets! I'm always up for drawing anything Legion related. :) Thanks Mike!

Also I am still taking advance sketch requests for HeroesCon. Details here.

Shadow Lass and Night Girl - Legion of Super-Heroes commission

This was a commission that was on the back burner for quite some time. I had done a bunch of sketches trying to nail down the composition but it was never working out. Finally it did.

The commission is for my friend Tom, another big time Legion fan. His idea was based on how these two characters powers complement each other. If you know know them, the one on the left is Shadow Lass. Her power is create shadow and complete darkness. Night Girl on the right, has super strength but only in darkness. The two of them stranded on a jungle planet with two suns mean they really have to work together to survive. The jungle has been rough on the costumes and barely represent how they look normally.

Since the commission was a story image, when I was done with the painting I decided to have some fun and recreate all the logos for a mock cover that might have come out back in the day. Tom is getting a print of this "cover" with the original. Thanks Tom!
