Phantom Kitty Girl - Sketches #14 & 15

Today we have my entry into Michael's "Common Elements" theme. He has a really cool collection of artwork that features characters that some type of commonality. He asked me for X-Man Kitty (Shadowcat) Pryde and Legionnaire Tinya (Phantom Girl) Wazzo. Pretty scary I knew Phantom Girls name without looking it up. Both characters possess the ability to become intangible and pass through solid objects. Fun stuff! Thanks again Michael! This piece is ink on 11" x 17" Canson Bristol Board.

This is simply too cool! You've perfectly captured both Kitty and Tinya here -- in likeness and in personality. And I love the way you've displayed their powers!

If Marvel and DC ever decide that comics should be fun again (yeah, like I'm holding my breath for that... sigh!), they should hire you to draw either a Kitty miniseries, or the Legion ongoing. Or what the heck -- both!

Thanks so much for a super commission, Gene!

Adding to Swanshadow's comments, Marvel/DC should hire Gene to do a cross over Legion/X-Men limited series! Come on Gene, pitch it to the big guys!

Nice job on Phantom Kitty Girl!

Any time a Legionaire makes his/her appearance on this blog, it is a great day!

I'm glad you like them Michael! Thanks again!

Gary, neither of the big two are interested in company crossovers. If they were there are some serious big guns that will get it. Me, I just want a little "Untold Tales of the Legion" featuring all the Legionnaires from the Cockrum/Grell/Sherman eras. Or from the Swan era. Thanks!

Thanks Royce!
