Sketchbook Sunday

Artwork © 2011 Gene Gonzales

I just realized I have been drawing this character for the last several days. Thanks for sticking with me as I find a feel for this character. I will try to mix it up tomorrow. :)

This was penciled in my sketchbook and tones added in Photoshop CS5.

This is Post #1218

Give us this character one more day.... Maybe with a tiki guy! I am not tired of her!

Yeah, she should show up tomorrow in a Packers Jersey!

I think this is your BEST one yet...looks like you're beginning to really click with her now...liked the others, but I can see more understanding in this one.

She needs her own daily sketch blog! :)

Oh, and don't you love using the red/cardinal colored pencils? They seem to add an xtra something to a piece like this!

Gary - The tiki's will not be with her. She would probably light them on fire and laugh "Tiki Torches!"

Royce - No way I will touch that rivalry. :)

John - Thanks! As you know it takes a while to get a feel for a character. Especially one made up entirely in your head. I'm still working on her but nice that you can see where I'm going with her.

John - Actually I was using Terra Cotta. But on the creme colored Strathmore drawing paper and my scanner it probably looks more like the red. To answer your question though, yeah, I like using a color pencil for the roughs. Anything but non-photo blue.

I like the palette on it. Could see the all the work done with her with this same color chart, and don't think it would be boring.

I dig it!
