This is a tight pencil version of yesterdays sketch. I will transfer it to 10" x 15" Canson Cold Press Watercolor paper for painting. This was done in pencil on 11" x 17" copy paper.
I liked that you abandoned the bonnet on the final piece, however, I liked the "face front" pose and the leaves/flowers on the rope. Don't get me wrong, I love this piece, at the same time, I think you could also do a second version of this piece based on the first pose.
By the way, what is this series going to be? "Swingers"?
Good luck with the work load, maybe you can have time to sleep sometime in December!!!!
Like the addition of the flip flops (thongs to us Beach Boy wannabees...lol)
This one looks less posed than the prelim which makes it cuter to me. Also the unclenching of the hands make this one sweeter as well, although Gary makes a great point about doing a second version... :)
Hey Gary, thanks for your thoughts on this piece. I may just do another version. :) Though I turned her head, I haven't completely decided against the leaves and flowers on the rope. After looking at it, the ropes need something to give it that classic pin-up look. Good call. Swingers? I don't know...might make people expect something a little naughtier. Sleep? What's that?
Royce - I grew up in SoCal and they were always flip flops to me. But checking with Deena she knew them as thongs. Later, calling them flip flops. She grew up in SoCal also. Hmmm? You are right about the prelim looking more rigid in the pose. I noticed that too and tried to soften it up. Glad you think I succeeded. And another vote for a second version. Thanks!
Brian - "If her Daddy's poor, just do as you feel." :) Glad you got the reference.

Gene,
you got women on your mind :) Not sure if her Daddy's rich but I'm liking it!
