PERILS ON PLANET X inks

Inked another page of POPX today and I thought I would share it here. Our hero is in his flight gear for the first time on this page. Yeah sure, he wore it on the first page of the first issue, but that was just a photo shoot, not an actual story page. :)

I love how the "hero" figure extends out into the panel below (not cutting off his feet). Makes for a more dramatic pose, good judgement on your part!

Excellent observation Gary. I agree whole-heartedly. While looking at this page, visions of the original Star Wars movie danced around my head. Specifically, the scenes where Leia is rescued and the crew make their "escape" from the DeathStar.

Chris Mills must be digging this stuff as much as we are!

Gary - Thanks. I did the layout without thinking of its inspiration until you mentioned it. José Luis Garcia Lopez will do this kind of big full character shot in his layouts and I have always liked them. Though I wasn't looking at anything of his when I did this page, I can see how his work has influenced me. One of my favorite artists who hasn't gotten the acclaim he deserves.

Thanks Royce, I can see the escape scene from Star Wars in this. Just wait until you see the whole thing!

Craig, yeah, Chris is digging this. I know he would like to be able to dig it faster though. Me too. :) Thanks for posting!
