Black Canary

It's been a long day. Finished the last pencil page of the book I am doing with Jim Shooter. Now I just have to ink the last 7 pages. Whew!
This was a warm up sketch this morning. When you don't know what to draw, draw Black Canary. Green Arrow and Black Canary were two of my favorite characters back in the 70s. They seemed like the only grown up relationship in comics to me. Sure there were married characters but GA and BC loved and fought each other like no one else. They were very cool. Side note: The first time I read a story with her in it I thought her name was "Black CANNery". Hey, I was only 7 and she didn't have a big black bird on her costume.

Gene,

So, if you don't know what to draw, you draw Black Canary? How many times do you estimate you have drawn the BC?

The posting of BC is real pretty, thanks for sharing!

Yeah, BC should ALWAYS be on the list. But it might be hard to find a model at the spur of the moment some times. ;)
Like the pose of the figure on this one.

Gary - I have no idea how many Black Canary's I have drawn. I do remember at convention I had 8 requests for BC sketches. And a couple of Zatanna's. It was a fishnet city. Thanks!

Royce - Yes, it is hard to get a model at the spur of the moment. Sometimes you just have to wing it. :) Thanks!
