Hawkman!

Today we have the first of four commissions for Alex, Hawkman about to bop someone on the head with a big, heavy mace. :) This is ink on 11" x 17" Strathmore Bristol Board. Thanks to Alex for this commission!

Y'know, there are some heroes that have such a distinct look, if they're not done just the right way, they fail to impress. Gene... you've impressed me! Yay!

The mace looks pretty nasty! Do you find the wings and the feather helmet somewaht difficult to draw? Seems like this would be a bit of a pain to me!

Great job!

Gary

Yeah the wings look great! I would think this was hard to draw too.

Hawkman really came out perfect. I just don't know what else to say!

Thanks Lud! :)

Gary & Karen - Thanks! The wings are not that difficult to do once you research how wings really look and work. I have references for a lot of things on my computer. Things I find over the years. Plus there is Google. I admit the wings are stylized hear but the basic structure is there.

Thanks Shane!

Damn fingers didn't type what I wanted. That should have been "I admit the wings are stylized here but the basic structure is there."

"Here" instead of "hear". D'Oh!
