Here is the final for Elektra. I am pleased with how it turned out. In order to put the spattered ink, representing blood, on the paper I scanned the art and printed out a full sized high contrast grayscale copy. Then I cut the figure out with an Exacto blade. When laid over the original art, the cut out figure protected the areas where I didn't want spatters of ink. It's a loose stencil made from the copy. Once in place, I spattered the ink using a couple of old brushes. I normally would use an old tooth brush that I bought just for this purpose, but I couldn't find it. And I didn't want to shop for a new one at 2:30am. :)
I will be putting Elektra up on eBay tonight for those that might be interested.
Here is the link.
This is ink, color pencils and a touch of acrylic on 11" x 17" Canson Mi-Teintes Red #505 paper.

That turned out GREAT!!! Nice addition of the splatter!
Thanks John!
That's an amazing take on Elektra, Gene!
She's one of the great Marvel heroines, but I've seen a number of otherwise talented artists really struggle to do her justice.
Glad to see you had no such problems!
Gene,
Glad that you were not tempted to use Deena or Dakota's toothbrush to get the job done :-)
Staying at the Days Inn Monroeville on 2727 Mosside Blvd. Not 4 star, but I've stayed there on several occassions and it is adequate. Maybe Stan Lee will be staying there :-)
Very nice Elektra. I can also envision the Elektra "white costume" (first used by Frank Miller in a Daredevil storyline where she was resurrected) as a great contrast to the Canson color and the blood splatter!

Thanks Jon! She is kind of a tough character to get right. I don't know why exactly. I'm glad you like my rendition.
Gary - I think they would know who did it if I did use their toothbrushes. :)
I've got the Red Roof Inn AND the Hampton Inn booked, but I haven't decided. Since I will be depending on Shuttle service, that might make the decision for me. :)
Thanks!
Nice mix of tough, dangerous and sexy!
Leave it to th Rock Star Gene Gonzo to have to book TWO hotels to handle the overflow that is sure to erupt from the hordes and hordes of groupies!
Sing it with me!
"What's your name? Little Girl, what's your name?"
Thanks Craig!
Ah Royce, you have stumbled onto my secret. :)
