BATWOMAN!

This was a piece I was supposed to be done before HeroesCon for "Patman". But when I didn't get it done, I figured I would do it at the con. While at the show, I got a little gun shy. I have never painted at a show and much like the newbie convention artist who has a tough time doing sketches, I found I was a little anxious about painting. Forgetting a couple of things I needed didn't help. Pat said no problem, I could get it to him later. And here we are.
I took some photos of the different stages for fun. The pencil rough (left), tighter pencils on the board (middle), and the underpainting in acrylic (right). The final art below is finished in watercolors on 12" x 16" 200lb watercolor paper.

Thanks for the commission and for waiting Pat!

That was definitely worth the wait. The colors really make her pop. Congrats to Pat and Gene. I guess patience is a virtue.

Woo hoo! Looks like the weekend spent sitting next to Joe Pekar paid off some dividends. Next year, I'll have Gene do a "Patwoman" painting, just to see his imagination go wild. Heh.

Patient P@.

Thanks guys!

Yeah Pat, sitting next to and sharing the trip with Joe Pekar was inspiring. Watching him work at the show and in our hotel room was great. "Patwoman"? Oh boy, you shouldn't have said that. :)
