Dawnstar

I have two commissions that I am working that I cannot show as they are gifts. When they are done and presented to the recipients I will show them. Also, I am designing a tryptic of paintings for Vincent that will be in progress for a while and I won't be able to show them. I am inking some Cavewoman pages and I can't show those. See a trend here?
As I have stated over and over again, I am a huge Legion fan. Though "my" Legion primarily exists back in the Pre-Zero Hour days of DC continuity, I am a fan of what Geoff Johns has done in recent years. I haven't read Legion of 3 Worlds or the new Adventure Comics, so no spoilers in the comments section, please. :)

That love of the Legion is what inspired today's post, Legionnaire Dawnstar. She was done in watercolor and some color pencils on 11" x 16" Winsor & Newton 200lb watercolor board. She will probably end up on eBay tonight with the Black Widow painting from yesterday.

Update: For those that might be interested, both the Black Widow and Dawnstar paintings are on eBay. Check it out here.

This is Post #700.

Congratulations on post # 700! A testament to your dedication to the blog and your fans! Thanks so much.

It is more that appropriate that this milestone posting be a Legion character. The Dawnstar is great!

Best regards,

Gary

Always a pleasure to see a Legionnaire from you Gene and Dawnstar is no exception. I notice that you have drawn her a few times. You either are a fan or enjoy drawing feathers. Of course, no complaints from me. Always a joy seeing a painted piece. You have a backlog of "secret" projects going on. Congrats on the glut of work! Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Gary. A Legionnaire for the 700th was just a coincidence. Funny how that turned out though.

I am both a fan and I enjoy drawing feathers. Actually one of the commissions I am doing involves wings as well. :) Thanks Royce!
