Valkyrie!

Posting late today. Had a full day of work and not one thing I could show. But thanks to José, we do have something to show. Valkyrie in an outfit she wore for a while in the 1970s. Thank goodness, because I am never happy with the metal cones outfit when I draw it. :)

This is ink on 11" x 17" Canson Bristol Board. Thanks again José!

Don't remember this costume but it works!! Madonna ruined the metal cones for me, anyway. Nice call Jose!!

I do remember this costume, and the post is very striking and imposing. Valkyrie done right in my opinion, versus the current version which can be more of a porn star with a sword.

I was starting to worry about the post today, started to think that Gene was be very, very busy!

Thanks Royce. Those cones never look right to me either.

Thanks Gary. I was starting to worry too. ;)

Hee Hee! Mine all mine! I feel like Daffy Duck getting his hands on the Genie's treasure hoard! I have a lovely Valkyrie piece that I shared with Gene for reference. I love that piece but this one is STUNNING! Could not be happier! Cheers!

Thor ruined metal cones for me ;)

Great job on this one, Gene! It's one of the coolest renditions of Valkyrie I've seen in quite some time.

I had thought this was Power Girl, but upon closer inspection, I noticed the pony tail and the sword, and knew it was another tough gal character. Nice, Gene!

Magnificent! I just discovered this blog, and man, do I ever dig your work! My fave so far is the Red Sonja piece, but this one of Valkyrie is a very close second. I know you know your comics to have dug up this John Byrne-designed classic costume. It's my fave Val costume; never could get close to the metal bra version, and the white version (the one that followed this one) was just too busy. This one is classy!
