Scarlet Witch

Sometimes a sketch just speaks to you. I was doodling the one on the left while in the waiting room at the eye doctor, looking forward to a battery of tests that would probably kill any productiveness for the day. After dinner I was looking at the sketch and immediately saw the Scarlet Witch in the face. I redrew it on the same page and made it Wanda. TaDa!

I think the first face looks better, but thats the way it goes. This was all done with color pencils in my sketchbook. About an hour total time.

Gene,

Wow! You should visit the eye doctor more often if this is the result!

The second face, while slightly different than the first, seems to be the best Wanda face. Something about the lips and subtle nuances in the nose, forehead brings out the Wanda character!

You really, really, need to work on publishing your next sketchbook!

Thanks again for posting!

If this is only an hour's work..you need to bring those color pencils to Charlotte when you attend Heroes. My "mental" list keeps growing with every post you make..they are all so good. Eric immediately thought face #1 looked like Naomi Watts while I was thinking a cross between Hayden Pannetiere (Sp?)and Kate from LOST. We both eventually agreed with you and settled on Wanda though..lol

Gary - Thanks. Gotta go back for more tests in three weeks. Who knows what I will come up with then. :)

Royce - Funny, when you mentioned Naomi Watts, I could see that. I don't watch LOST but I think I know who you are talking about, because I suddenly thought of Jessica Biel. They have similar shaped mouths. Maybe I will bring my pencils to Heroes. Could be fun. The difference though is that I tend to be a bit outgoing at a show, in case you hadn't noticed. Hard to just focus and produce this quickly there.

Thanks for the comments guys!
