Process

I work on quite a few comic projects that don't get seen in the mainstream comic market. I've shown the comic for the U.S. Health and Human Services I did. I done a few for toy lines that have been produced and some that haven't. This project is one of those that won't be seen in your local comic book store. I can't talk about it yet but I can use it as an example of one of the ways I work. This is a 4 panel comic strip. Above are two panels from one of the strips. There is nothing ground breaking here as far as the process goes, but since I always like to see how other artists get from rough to finish I thought I would share too. The main character is the blond. The stories revolve around her and two of her friends. One friend is in the upper left. That was a concept piece to develop her look. The other girl was on my sketchbook page a couple of days ago. So far all eight strips I have done have featured the blond. The others will be joining her soon. I handle the complete art package for this job: pencils, inks, colors and lettering.

I also love seeing the developmental process, so thanks a bunch for showing this to us. I was going to make some lame joke about Room Service or some such but will refrain and just say that I would like you to point us toward this project whenever you get a chance/permission. It looks like a cute strip idea.

Gene,

I echo Royce's comments and would also hope you provide more details on the project. I am wondering if the "ms" in the file name is a clue....hmmmmmm.

Also, how is PoPX going?

Royce - You're welcome, glad you liked it. I will point you in the direction of this strip when I get the go ahead.

Gary - Yes the "ms" does have something to do with the strip name. You are just too sharp for me. :) POPX is progressing nicely. I finished penciling page 20 of 26 on Friday. Thanks for asking!

Hope you two had a nice weekend!
