Angel

Another piece that I had no idea where it was going. I drew the figure in Photoshop and started painting. The dress went on at some point and then the wings. After that a flaming sword had to be drawn. That was obvious. This was done off and on during the day for fun. All in all probably an hour on it tops. Completely created in Photoshop.

Hi Gene,

Which process is quicker for you to do: 1) draw by hand, then use Photoshop to color or 2) do both the illustrating and coloring in Photoshop?

The Photoshop product seems to me to be a different style than the art you do by hand. I love the flaming sword, but the angel looks mad and ready to put the sword to use!

Keep sharing!

Hi Gary - Neither is quicker than the other, just different. The style is different here because I was limiting the size of brush I use. Staying rather large and trying to finesse the variety of strokes with the pressure sensitive pen/tablet. The piece is pretty weak but that's okay. I wasn't going for "pretty" necessarily. Experimenting was key here. When I work at it, I can make it look very much like my traditional artwork. It might be hard to tell the difference.

As for her temperament, yeah, she does look a bit upset at someone. :)

Thanks for your questions!
