Sun Boy - Legion of Super-Heroes

More fun with the Legion. Today I did this quick inked sketch of Sun Boy. After Vincent mentioned Sun Boy in the comments section the other day, I realized I haven't drawn him in a long time. Now this certainly isn't a completely polished piece but it was quick and fun. I will probably redo this into a sharper inked pin-up.

The original is ink on 11" x 17" Strathmore Bristol Board and colored in Photoshop.

This is Post #709

Very dynamic and exciting! I was always a fan of his look.

I'd say it looks sweet, unpolished or not, Gene!

Makes me think of a grown up Johnny Storm. Do love the colors of the flames!

That is wonderful, Gene!

Sunboy has such a great costume - it just screams retro space age to me. Primary colors, elegantly simple chest insignia, and those shoulder thingies (what the heck are they!).

Great job! If this hits ebay, I'm all over it! :-)

Very nice Gene. You know, I always liked seeing those little statuetes of the Legionnaires in the various stories back in the day and thought even as a little tyke that it would be cool to have them for my very own. Little did I know that statues/Action Figures would be all the rage someday. The next best thing to collecting those figurines would to have a complete Gonzo Library of the characters. Off to buy a lottery ticket to make that happen!!
