DOOM!

Today we have another commission from Charlie. Doom is one of those characters that you either get it right or you don't. There seems to be no middle ground. I find his outfit difficult to draw and still maintain the tough villain look. It's the skirt. :)

I think I managed to pull it off this time. The look, not the skirt. And I'm pleased with it. And so is Charlie, and that's what matters most. Thanks again Charlie! :)

Doom was done in ink on 11" x 17" Strathmore Bristol Board.

Yeah, Doom is one of those characters who can be minimized to a goofy villian if not done correctly. Think the key is the mask, eyes, and pose. And yes, I think Gene pulled this one off having managed the ever present skirt!
