Cover Art and Working Title

I have finally finished the lay out of the 48 pages of color art for the  art book. Because it has as much sketchbook material as it does finished art, I decided not to call it a sketchbook. Right now the working title is below. I'm not completely happy with it, so I will try to come up with something else. If anyone has any suggestions I would be glad to hear them. Just keep it clean people. :)
This the cover for the book. Though I may tweak it a bit. I still have to figure out what to do with the title page and the inside front and inside back covers. The back cover will have all my contact info including my new (soon to go live) web site for my comic and pin-up work. I already have the domain name I just have to put the site together. :)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Is there a theme of the book? I'd be more than glad to contribute to the name.

Also, would be Zatanna be in it?

I like the design of the cover.

One thing I've noticed on sketch books of late is that either the front or back piece is designed with a place for an original sketch. Sometimes they come with a purchase of the book and sometimes there is an additional cost. You may want to consider that.

I like the title, but you may want to go with something a bit more "fun." Either way, it's the art that sells the book! Yours should do well!

No theme Lan. Just Art for Commerce. No wait, Art for Art Sake. Yeah that's it. No Zatanna pieces in this one. Didn't even notice it until you asked. Since my last sketchbook was four years ago, I had a lot of material to sort through.

Thanks Craig. I will probably do a head sketch on the inside cover. I won't know until I get a copy and see how the stock will hold up or how difficult it is to draw on. For the title, I want to come up with something fun. My new site will be GonzoArt Studio (dot com) so I thought I could have something Gonzo to the title. :)

Craig just likes *free* sketches, thus his suggestion! ;-)

I like your new domain name.

"Gonzo Art Book One"

perhaps?

"Gonzo Art: The Creative World of Gene Gonzales"

I need to do a book, but also have a plan....if you want to discuss it, and maybe you've thot about it, Gene...I'd love to talk to you about it. It's an idea that I've seen some use. Send me a private email with your number!

I suggest..

"Buy this book before it's gonzo you won't miss out on all the great art!

Hmmm..maybe not.

Who doesn't like a free anything? Well, anything that you like that is.

Actually, Beatty turned me on to folks doing free head sketches with their sketchbooks.

How about: Gene Gonzales Goes Gonzo!

@ Craig: Yeah, that's always a good plan.

How about "From Fishnets to Hairnets the art of Gene Gonzales"
If not I like Mr Beatty's 2 titles :)

(old joke you had to be there)

I will be contrary here, I like the working title that Gene has. Provides a break from Vol 1 and 2 of the softcover sketchbook and it sounds like it is a step up. I think most people would not be shocked to see sketchs mixed in with finished art in a book of this type. Just check Frank Cho's latest Artbook.
