Bounty - Legion of Super-Heroes / Five Years Later

This is the last day of our week with the Legion of Super-Heroes. And up today is Bounty. This is actually the Legionnaire Dawnstar. In a timeline reset of the Legion (Don't ask. It's cool, but don't ask), Dawny had been possessed by an entity called Bounty. This entity amputated Dawnstar's wings and used her tracking powers as an assassin. Dawny did break free of Bounty's influence not long before the big Zero Hour story line wiped out that Legion's timeline. In the reboot that followed, none of the earlier events took place. They really make you work hard to be a Legion fan. :)

Chlorophyll Kid - Legion of Substitute Heroes / Five Years Later

We are winding down to the last two Legion related requests from Michael. This one is Chlorophyll Kid, a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes. In early appearances he carried seeds with him that he would grow extremely fast with his power, but in later years he seemed to have the ability to control plant life, not just the seeds he sowed. His attire fits the time period of the Legions Five Years Later series. The Subs were mostly a resistance force against the Dominators occupational force. Thanks again Michael!

The only real drawback to Stone Boy's power of turning himself into stone is he is completely immobile when he does. Really he should have been called Statue Boy. Which is why I drew inspiration from Michelangelo's Statue of David for this pose. :)

Fire Lad - Legion of Substitute Heroes / Five Years Later

In the early days of the Legion lore, you would feel bad for the rejected Legion applicants who banded together secretly to become the Legion of Substitute Heroes. But time and time again they did help the Legion and prove themselves heroes. Then later the Subs were used as comedy relief. They were made fun of and treated without much, if any, respect. Granted some of those stories are pretty funny, but still. Then came the Five Years Later story line. There was no Legion on Earth and The Subs became a resistance force to the Earth-conquering Dominators. A race of aliens that had been after Earth and the United Planets for decades. Or centuries, depending on what rebooted universe you read. It was the first time the Subs were portrayed as, well, bad asses. Fire Lad is one of the original members of the Legion of Substitute Heroes. His ability is fire breath. His first appearance was in Adventure Comics #306, March 1963. Gravity Kid - Legion of Super-Heroes: Legion Academy

Another request from Michael of a character I haven't drawn before, Gravity Kid. He was introduced in the last few years as a student in the Legion Academy. He is one of the few characters in the Legion in a same sex relationship. Gravity Kid's boyfriend Power Boy graduated from the Academy and was assigned to the Science Police on the the prison planet Takron-Galtos. After a short time apart, Gravity Kid left the academy to join him. Gravity Kid can mentally manipulate gravitons which enable him to control gravity. His name probably gave that away though. :) Thanks Michael!
