More playing with working in a digital medium. This was done completely in Photoshop on my Cintiq 24HD.

No worries about me still working in traditional mediums. Perils On Planet X is being done the good old fashion way: Pencil and ink on board. :) And don't forget to check out this weeks page tomorrow!

Work has been extremely busy lately. Commercial work has started stacking up. That's a good thing. But it has put me behind on a few inked commissions. And they are Legion requests, so you know for me not to get to them is killing me. With any luck I will get a few things under control in the next week or so. Then it will be POPX and commissions for a while.

This was done entirely in Photoshop CS5.

And last but not least we have Catwoman. This was commissioned by Rhonda for her husband. Oddly enough I never got his name. :) Thank Rhonda! And I hope your husband liked it!

That conclude the Christmas edition of the Conventionless Convention Sketches. I still have more non- gift CCSs in the wings ready to go. I will probably start doing a couple of double posts in the coming days to get each one posted here. I hope everyone has had a great day. And remember "Peace on Earth" does not need to be regulated to one day in the year. Let's make peace and good will a daily thing. :)

Hipster Catwoman - Conventionless Convention Sketch

So Lisa gave me a list to choose from and the idea of a Hipster Catwoman stood out the most. I like adding my own touch to a character. So my attempt has her posting a picture on Instagram of her latest theft acquisition. I hope the big bad bat doesn't follow her posts. :) Thanks Lisa for the commission.

Oh, and lets wish Lisa a great big Happy Birthday! Hope you get a lot of cool stuff Spazzy!

Catwoman, 1968

Since Catwoman has been around so long, dressed in clothing that fits the time period (for the most part) it was hard to do a piece that wasn't completely different. Right off the bat (no pun intended) the Catwoman costume from the Batman TV show is a purrfect example of a 1960s outfit.

Instead I went with a flat black. No shiny leather or spandex. Or latex. I thought about her being agile like a cat or dancer. So the outfit ended up more like a dance unitard with a few open spots. Big belt and rope filled out the rest. I didn't put ears on her head, since I was trying to keep this "real" world. But the necklace works.

When I did the Death, 1968 piece I was thinking Twiggy but felt like it looked more like Marlo Thomas of THAT GIRL! Here I was thinking Emma Peel, but I think it's a mix of Natalie Wood and Lisa Loeb. :)
