Happy Administrative Professional's Day!

Today's post is inspired by my wife, Deena. On her way out the door for work she reminded me that she is being taken out to lunch for Administrative Professional's Day and thus my warm up sketch for the day was born. My wife inspires me everyday, this time it was just a little more direct. Color pencil in my sketchbook, done in about 20 minutes. Now back to the dreaded deadline. Have a good day everyone!

I was going to say that I found this sketch particulary appealing and that it definitely hit some sort of chord with me. I was going to go as far as saing it might possibly be my favorite of your quick pin-ups on this blog so far. I have always had a thing for the professional looking female form. (secretary.. librarian.. teacher, etc.) I always enjoyed the early Barbara Gordon (TV version) for this very reason. I was going to say several other things about this great piece but then read the post itself and leave it as a simple...

"Gee, you look nice today MRS. Gonzales!"

I wasn't staring..honest I wasn't!

uhhhhh...I was staring, Mrs. Gonzales, I'magkuw sorry :-).

Gene, you and I have something in common. My wife was also taken out to lunch for Admin day.

Speaking of Mrs G., how does she feel about your "pin-up" type art? Is she ok with it, or sort of "puts up with it"? If you want to plead the fifth, I would understand!

Great piece of art!

Wow, this one made an impact. :)

Royce - You were staring. It was noticed. :)

Craig - Thanks!

Gary - Thanks! And wish your wife a belated Happy AP Day for me.

Deena loves pin-up art. I introduced it to her when we started dating in 1991. She is my both my muse and my gauge as to what works and what doesn't. She is also my model for more pieces than I can count. She is almost every Zatanna, Black Canary, and fishnet wearing character I draw or paint. We have two signed Olivia lithos that need to be hung since we moved. So she is a fan of pin-up. While my taste run towards the cute and innocent images, she likes the naughty and bitchy looking ones. :)
