The Commish!

Another trip to Gotham tonight courtesy of Brian "Batmite" Jones. Brian asked for a Commissioner Gordon image, and maybe have him waiting on Batman. I thought that naturally the Bat Signal would have to be there but I didn't want it to dominate the image. So I had this idea for the stark, high contrast image in the rain and here it is. Check out what Gordon is holding in his hand to see why he feels the need to call in the big guy.

Thanks for the commission Brian. It's always fun to visit Gotham with you.

Very cool composition Gene. The sense of anticipation really sets up the perfect mood for the beginning of a Batman adventure.

Congrats Brian!

This turned out awesome Gene! All the elements you added give it a cool Noir feel...and I dig that :)Plus that card in his hand tells the story....thanks for giving Gotham's finest some love and for another great addition to my collection.

I thought the rain was the perfect addition to a great piece. I was wrong. It was the addition of the card in Gordon's hand AND the rain that give this piece such weight. That and it's just plain well done!
