Cry Havok! And let loose the dogs of war...

Today's post is the X-Men Havok, in his original costume. I believe Neal Adams designed this costume. I could be wrong though. This is ink on 11" x 17" Canson Bristol Board.

Drop by this weekend as I will be posting progress pictures of the Phantom Lady painting I am finishing up for Kevin. He and I made adjustments to the original drawing I posted here and I think it works much better. Should be fun!

Have a good weekend!

Gene,

Must have been a pain to ink the black between the circles, is there an easy way to do that? Great piece!

Gary - It's not really a pain to ink the black between the circles. Like anything else, it's in the planning at the pencil stage. Thanks!

Great Havok. Looking forward to the Phantom Lady painting. I must be in a PL mood. I just bought the bust designed by Terry Dodson.

Nice job on Havok. For a guy who used to be known as primarily a Good Girl artist, you've shown your chops on the guys lately. Hey, let me rephrase that! You are a great Good Girl artist but more than than that are a great artist!

Thanks Royce! Nothing wrong with being in a mood for Phantom Lady, I always say. (Actually, that's the first time I said that.)

Thanks Craig! There has been a load of male characters lately hasn't there? I have told this story before...At a convention years ago, some guy was going through my prints and going on and on about how I draw women. He left and brought buddy over saying "You gotta see this guys chicks". This went on for a while. Then he asked if I was doing sketches, I showed him a Black Canary I was working on and he loved it. He was torn by a decision of what to request all while talking about how I draw women.

Then he says "Can I get a sketch of the Hulk?"

Didn't see that coming. :)
