Darkseid

I should have some more pieces from HeroesCon to share this week but in the meantime I still have a list of characters that I would like to do on gray paper. These pieces have been very popular, especially at HeroesCon, but more importantly they have been fun for me. I sometimes have a need to break up what would be my normal work style by doing something different. That's how I ended up working in fluid acrylics, Canson paper, and digital painting. All things I will go back to, but for now, the gray paper is intriguing me.

Darkseid was a natural for this medium. But I did add the red to the eye just to set off his look. The red was added digitally in case I was sorry I added it. There just isn't an "undo" button when dealing with analog mediums. :)

He looks very pensive!

I like what you did with the shadow effect of his head. Good job!

Thanks Lisa!

Royce - Thanks. I always like Darkseid when he is calm and confident in his powers. It should take a lot to get him really worked up. Ultimately this piece didn't work out as I saw it in my head. I will probably revisit Darkseid in the future and take another crack at him. :)

I like the addition of the red eye. it looks very ominous.

Alright gene, now you're responding to Royce when he hasn't posted a comment. You are not doing much to dispel my idea that Royce does not exist.

I saw a picture of Royce on Facebook. I applaud the extra effort to keep the gag going.
