Sketchbook Friday

It has been a crazy and exciting day today. Conference call about an exciting new venture I hope takes off, then talking with two potential new clients and then getting about 90% of the Chameleon Boy commission done. I had planned to be able to share that one today. While I could have finished it, and may still do that tonight, I want to be able to send the image to the person who commissioned it before posting. It would have been a lot later. So instead some more sketchbook material.

The Brainiac 5 on this page was the first one I sketched. Even though it is rough, I still like this figure. I was going to put his force field around him and have gun blasts bouncing off. But then I went with the somber version featuring Computo. Not sure that was the correct choice. The other figures are of Duo Damsel as I was working out her pose.

Have a good weekend everyone!

The Braniac rough seems like it could be easily reconfigured into a Star Trek character. Maybe my imagination?

Interesting how you have one red Duo Damsel figure in red. All of the poses would have/have worked fine.

Have a great weekend. I will be checking out the Baltimore Comicon. Baltimore will be a mess this weekend between the Baltimore Marathon, the Ravens game, the Edgar Allan Poe funeral and of course, the con. I will tell Budd Root you said "hi".

And some of the DC brass is suppose to be there. I will ask them why they have not contacted you to do The Legion!

You're right Gary. Brainy's outfit came first but it's not a particularly unique design. Until you had purple to it, green skin and yellow hair to him.

I tend to use whatever is within reach for the sketchbook sometimes. As you may have noticed.

Seems there is always something going on in Baltimore the weekend of the show. I think the first year got part of a hurricane rainstorm. The second year (when I went) there was a Ravens game AND there was a sniper(s). Can't remember if they caught them or not before the show. Whew!

You get me a gig drawing the Legion and I will have to either give you an agents cut or a sketchbook. :) Have fun at the show!

Nice Braniac 5 Gene. I think I like this one even better than the one you went with!

Gary, have fun in Baltimore!
