FX Show! - PreGame

Barely have internet service so this will be quick. (I'm actually typing this while on my cell phone with support. They were supposed to be here by 8pm and never showed. Then they rescheduled me for Saturday afternoon. When I found out, I pointed out to them I wasn't going to be here, they asked why would I schedule service if I wasn't planning to be here. Yeah, it's been that kind of phone call.) Anyway, I posted this Dejah Thoris before when it was just pencil on charcoal paper, but now I have added digital color and she will be one of many new prints for sale at the show. Actually, the original will be for sale there too. :)

Check back each night and I will post some of the sketches I do. They will be digital photos because I won't have an opportunity to scan them, but that's the best I can do. :) If you are going to be at the show, stop by and say "HI"!

Supergirl - Convention Print

It's time to start thinking about convention season and with that comes the work of coloring a lot of art for prints. So here we have the first one for 2009. This piece was created as one of the sketch auction pieces. Now with a splash of color in Photoshop, it will be in my print folder for a future show.

Also today, I finally put up the new design for my website, www.genegonzales.com. If you check it out you might notice that all the pin-up art is gone. I am separating my pin-up work from my main business site. No one has objected to my pin-ups but I think it's better to be proactive. I have registered a new domain name for the pinup work but I haven't built the site yet. Hopefully I will find some time soon. In the meantime I will try to keep my CAF page up to date.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Christmas Cutie and Prints For Sale!

Another rough for a Christmas Cutie today. And big announcement...

SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION!!! Over to the right hand side of the blog you will see a new gizmo advertising prints of my artwork for sale. I am selling prints through ImageKind.com. I know a couple of other artists that use the service and it seems to work well for them. Just to be on the safe side, I ordered a print of my Island Girl with the two tikis. I ordered the least expensive paper and it arrived yesterday in a nice secure tube. All I can say is "wow". The quality is great, the colors vibrant, and the image is sharp.

After the test run, I uploaded several pin-ups. Right now there are a few Halloween girls, a couple of Island Girls, a Mermaid, and a whole lot of Christmas Cuties. The Halloween Girls will be removed on November 1st, to make way for others. All images can be printed on a wide variety of paper and canvas. You can even have it framed! And all images are available on greeting cards. I hope everyone will take a look at the many options. Even if you don't buy something, it's pretty cool to run though the paper options, framing options, even simulate the color of the wall you would put in up on. :) Thanks!
