Clouds in my coffee

This piece on the left is the background for the cover I did for DIARY OF NIGHT #3, on the right. I shifted the color a bit on the final piece. I'm sure I has a reason for it, I just don't remember why. All done in Photoshop.

Commissions

I used to take on personal commissions. Most of the time these were fun to do. But my workload got too heavy and I had to stop. When I did stop, there were three commissions on my list that needed to be completed. This is a color comp of one I am finishing tomorrow. The original will be 16" x 20". It is the first traditional painting I have done in a long time. Thanks to a bout with insomnia last night I started the painting and I'm about 60% done. If you can't sleep, be productive.

Digital Painting

I've been using a computer for adding color to art work for a long time. Since 1992, I think. The type of work I enjoy make it look like natural media or better, something in between natural media and digital. I like textures and colors that blend and look a bit messy. I find I am a bit more daring when I have an "undo" command. (Pencil and Photoshop)

Coffee!

Anyone who knows me, knows of my love, er, addiction to coffee. Must have it in the morning as soon as I am up and out of bed. I will try different coffees. I have a french press as well as a top notch drip coffee brewer. I like having a Starbucks only three blocks from my house! I have my addiction under control. Really. I did the image above for my wife, Deena. Who also loves coffee.
